Sculpture commissioned by the National Heritage Monument(NHM) and was a collaboration with Tania Lee and Lungisa Kala.

Winnie is part of a large procession of approx. 100 lifesize bronzes called ‘The Long March to Freedom'(Century City/Cape Town) celebrating the South Africa’s unsung heroes of the past 3 centuries as who did their part in the struggle for human rights and dignity.

The Nelson Mandela Statue was sculpted a few years prior by Barry Jackson and Xhanti Mpakama. We sculpted Winnie separately and they were joined by the hands on site in 2019.
