Horse Marquette

This maquette was a pitch for a lifesize bronze commission that unfortunately never materialised.

It was to highlight the animal abuse and neglect that is so prevalent especially amongst ‘working’ equines. I wanted to capture a horse in a most vulnerable pose- collapsing, neck exposed, screaming. The rope and blanket- both symbols of human ownership and possible oppression- are loosening and slipping off in the horse’s final rear of defiance.
